SKG OACP WORKSHOP

The Sawit Kinabalu Group Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) Workshop was held from 24th – 27th June 2024 at Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, Kota Kinabalu.

The OACP Workshop served as a pivotal gathering where all the Top Management within the Sawit Kinabalu Group came together to strategize and develop comprehensive anti-corruption measures. The participants engaged in rigorous discussions, workshops, and collaborative sessions aimed at strengthening the Company’s commitment to integrity and transparency in line with national directives and organizational goals.

The Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) is a fundamental anti-corruption document at organizational level to curb weaknesses and issues regarding governance, integrity and anti-corruption within an organization, for the span of five years.

The Sawit Kinabalu Group receives its instructions from several authoritative sources for the development of the Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP). Specifically, one source is the Letter of Instruction from the Prime Minister No.1 2018 Series 2 No.1 2019, which mandates that “each Ministry, Department, Agency, and State Government must develop OACP at their respective organizational levels effective from the date the NACP and this Directive are issued.”

The second directive originates from the Sabah State Secretary Circular No. 2 of 2019, which affirms that “The State Government had agreed to establish the Integrity Unit throughout all Government Link Companies (GLC) in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister No.1 2018 Series 2 No.1 2019.”

The third set of instructions is derived from the National Anti-Corruption Plan 2019 – 2023, under Strategy 6 – Inculcating Good Governance in Corporate Entities (Priority Area: Corporate Governance). This strategy stipulates that “To oblige the Statutory Bodies, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Companies Limited By Guarantee (CLBG), and private sector entities regulated by regulatory bodies to develop Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) with the assistance of three agencies namely the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption, and Malaysian Institute of Integrity.”

The OACP Workshop is being conducted in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM), with the aim to provide adequate guidance to all 33 participants, who are part of the Top Management in developing an effective and comprehensive OACP for Sawit Kinabalu Group.

Moreover, the Opening Ceremony of the OACP Workshop was officiated by the Sabah State Secretary, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Haji Safar Bin Untong, with attendance from various VIPs including the Head of Unit at MACA, members of the Jawatankuasa Bebas Integriti (JBI) Sawit Kinabalu Group, the Deputy Director of SPRM Sabah, and members of the Sawit Kinabalu Group Board of Directors.

Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Haji Safar Bin Untong also took the opportunity to personally hand over the Letters of Appointment to the members of the OACP Committees. This ceremonial act not only symbolized his endorsement and support but also marked a formal beginning for the OACP Committees to actively engage in the development and execution of the Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) within the Sawit Kinabalu Group.
