Background

Sawit is now embarking to develop Palm Oil Industrial Cluster, namely SAWIT POIC, which is developed by Sandakan Bulkers Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sawit Kinabalu Berhad. It is strategically located in the north eastern side of Sabah in the vicinity of Sandakan port.

Sawit POIC is a new integrated palm oil industrial hub with 2,800 acres of land earmarked to cluster and centralized all palm oil related industries in one single complex.

It will be developed with modern infrastructures, utilities,
amenities with bulking and a dedicated liquid jetty for shipping.

2,800 acres of land earmarked for the project.

Phase one -1,010 acres
Phase two - 1,800 acres

Project Development

Phase 1 development is due for earthwork commencement
in the third quarter 2006 and expected to be completed
by third quarter 2007.
Infrastructure shall be ready for operation by middle of 2008

Infrastructure Facilities

Highly accessible by dual carriageway roads connecting from the hinterland to the project site.
Adequate supply of power, water as well as other utilities.
Pipe racks connecting from individual premises to bulking facilities.
Liquid jetty for efficient handling import and export of cargo for shipping.

Targeted Industries

- Refineries, Kernel Crushing Plant, bio- diesel, bulking installation, oleo chemical, bio-mass etc.
