Dr. Pang Teck Wai

Dr
Pang Teck Wai, Malaysian, aged 49 was appointed as Board
of Director on 18 June 1999. He is an economist by training
and has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics (1976), Master
of Commerce majoring in Economics (1978) from the University of
New South Wales Australia, respectively and a Doctorate in Philosophy
from Macquarie University, Australia (1987).
In 1992-1993, he was appointed as the Director of Centre for Borneo
Studies at Yayasan Sabah. Prior to joining Borneo Studies, Dr Pang
started his career by teaching economics at the University of New
South Wales, Australia from 1979 to 1985. In 1999 he was seconded
to the Chief Minister’s Department from Institute for Development
Studies(Sabah) as an Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister. Presently,
he holds the position of an advisor on Industrial Development at
the Ministry of Industrial Development.
An Associate Research Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Economics
Research (MIER), Economic Advisor to the Sabah United Chinese Chamber
of Commerce, Kota Kinabalu Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Sabah
Manufacturers and National Council Member of the Associated Chinese
Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Malaysia. He has no conflict
of interest with the company and its subsidiaries and has no family
relationship with any other director of the company.
